Learning about Baby Animals
Pre-K through 2nd grade Gators read a book in the library about all the different names for baby animals. Then we got to meet a baby piglet! Special thanks to Mrs. Jacobs for sharing her pet piglet with us.
Important Information for Incoming 6th Graders
For the 2025-2026 school year, 5th graders going into 6th grade will now be attending middle school with 7th and 8th grade.
Multicultural Night
Join us on May 1st as we celebrate all the cultures represented at Garcia! We will enjoy sharing in everyone's rich heritage.
Fine Arts Night
Come see our Honor Choir, Jump Rope Team, and the amazing art created by the Gators!
4th Grade Field Trip
Our fourth graders recently got to visit the Texas state capitol and the Inner Space Caverns on their field trip. Texas history came to life as they explored Austin for the day. Thank you to all the fourth grade parents and teachers who made this wonderful experience possible!
1st Grade Scientists
First Graders explored real earth worms and gummy worms! They are learning to classify things as living and non-living and having a lot of fun in the process. Way to go, Gators!
Gator Basketball!
We had a great basketball season with our boys and girls Gator teams working and playing hard. Thank you to Coach Slatter and Mr. Walker for your time and energy!
The cheerleaders did a great job, too, lead by our PTO.

Rockwall ISD has partnered with VU Scholarships to offer more than 1,000 students $2.4 billion in early college scholarship opportunities before they even apply to a university or college.

Rockwall High School’s “Walk the Line” and Rockwall-Heath High School’s “Infiniti” a cappella choirs are headed back to the International Championship of High School A Cappella (ICHSA) national competition in New York City.

For its exemplary record of leadership, service and activities that improve the school and community, the Rockwall High School Student Council has been recognized as a 2025 National Gold Council of Excellence by the National Association of Student Councils (NASC) and Sweepstakes Council by the Texas Association of Student Councils (TASC). This is the fourth year in a row for both awards.

Twenty Business Professionals of America (BPA) members from the Dr. Gene Burton College and Career Academy (GBCCA) have advanced to compete at the 2025 BPA National Leadership Conference (NLC), taking place May 7–11 in Orlando, Florida.

The Rockwall ISD Board of Trustees has officially named the district’s fourth middle school Ursula Rakow Middle School. The new campus, part of the 2021 bond program, is scheduled to open its doors to students in grades 6 through 8 in August 2025.
