Kindergarten Super Readers!
Kindergarten has been strengthening their reading skills. We celebrated them with a parade of Super Readers! They are growing and learning every day. Way to go, Kindergarten!
Garcia Spelling Bee
Congratulations to all the participants in this year's Spelling Bee. These 4th and 5th graders studied hard to prepare and do their best. Our winner for this year is Jaxon N. and our runner-up is Scarlett B.!
StuCo Spreading Holiday Cheer!
Garcia Elementary Student Council was caught spreading Christmas cheer! Teachers were treated to muffins, drinks, and carols by our kind and helpful student leaders. Happy Holidays, Gators!
STEAM Family Night
We enjoyed having so many Gator families join us for our STEAM Night! There were activities about math skills, coding, density, engineering, and more. Thank you to all the educators and learners who made it such a fun night.
Science Stream Table Demonstration
Garcia 4th and 5th grade Scientists got to observe weathering, erosion, and deposition in action! Thank you to the Texas A&M Agriculture department in Rockwall for bringing the stream table for the demonstration.
Robotics Event
Our 3 Robotics teams did a fantastic job representing Garcia at the Robotics Event! Way to go, Gators.

Naglieri General Ability Tests for Kindergarten Students
Per the Texas Education Agency (TEA) requirement, all kindergarten students are considered potential candidates for gifted/talented and other advanced-level services. Rockwall ISD will administer aptitude tests to all kindergarteners during the school day from January 26 to February 6, 2026.
College and Career Week
We had a great time celebrating College and Career Week! From visitors from the GBCCA for 5th grade to the Future Careers Parade with Pre-K-1st grade, we had lots of excitement! The future is very bright for these Gators!

Rockwall High School senior and student council president Max Watson completed the National Association of Student Councils (NASC) Distinguished Student Leader Program, earning national recognition as a Distinguished Student Leader. NASC is administered by the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP).

Rockwall High School’s student council advisor, Tim Watson, has been named the Texas Association of Student Councils (TASC) District 3 Advisor of the Year.

A total of 27 Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) students from the Dr. Gene Burton College and Career Academy are advancing to the state competition.
